Got a Medicare supplement? It’s time to put on your sneakers!

By Denise Pinkney

We’re excited to offer the SilverSneakers Fitness Program to our Medicare supplement members.

SilverSneakers is an exercise program designed to keep older adults active and healthy.

In North Dakota, it can be challenging (and even dangerous) to take a walk outside in the winter (which unfortunately can last six months). That’s why SilverSneakers is such a great benefit to our Medicare supplement members because it provides members the opportunity to exercise at fine facilities around the state. At-home solutions are available for those who aren’t able to visit an exercise facility.

SilverSneakers is an exercise program designed to keep older adults active and healthy.  If you’re currently on a Medicare supplement plan, you can go to www.silversneakers.com/locationfinder.aspx to find the nearest SilverSneakers location. If there isn’t a SilverSneakers location nearby, you can enroll in SilverSneakers Steps, a home fitness program.

As part of our mission to improve the care and health of our members, we are offering SilverSneakers. Research shows older adults are more physically active often feel better and have lower health care costs. And physical activity can reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases, may relieve symptoms of depression, helps to maintain independent living and enhances overall quality of life.

So it’s time to grab your sneakers and check it out!
