Like other Fargo-Moorhead employers, we were saddened to hear the news last week that PRACS Institute has closed its Fargo location, leaving more than 350 employees without jobs.
We would like to help those workers find new jobs and help out the local economy if we can. We also have some job openings that might be a good fit for the former PRACS workers. So we figured, why not hold a job fair for former PRACS workers so can find out more info about available and future job openings?
“We’d prefer not to see any community members experience a situation like this, but we are hopeful that the former PRACS employees will explore new opportunities at Blue Cross Blue Shield and our affiliated companies,” said Michelle Kommer, senior vice president of human resources and development. “It’s an exciting time here, and we are seeking talented individuals like these to support our growth.”
Former PRACS employees are welcome to attend an informational career fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, March 26, at our Fargo headquarters, 4510 13th Avenue South. The career fair will feature open and future opportunities at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) and Noridian Administrative Services, our government contracting subsidiary. Career fields with job opportunities include IT, audit, finance, marketing, customer service and other medically related fields.
“We know that many of these employees possess translatable skills for the majority of our open positions,” Kommer said. “This is a difficult situation for the PRACS staff, and hopefully we can assist this talented group in transitioning to another positive work environment.”
Job seekers can view current job openings at BCBSND.com/jobs before attending the career fair. Those who attend the job fair are asked to bring a resume with them.
Please help us share the news of this job fair and help former PRACS employees land on their feet.
