How do I apply for insurance coverage?

Our customer service staff answers hundreds of calls each day. We decided we would answer the five most common questions we receive from members. One of the most common questions we are asked is how to apply for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota health insurance coverage.

You can search for and apply for coverage online on BCBSND.com. To get started, visit www.BCBSND.com/shop and search for individual, family, senior or employer coverage options. You can also receive free online quotes on our website and read more about the advantages of choosing Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota’s comprehensive, high-quality coverage.

If you or your spouse qualifies for insurance coverage offered by an employer that provides BCBSND coverage, you would sign up for BCBSND coverage through the employer.

Another way to purchase insurance debuted in 2013, with North Dakotans eligible to enroll in the North Dakota Health Insurance Marketplace. The initial marketplace open enrollment period to purchase 2014 insurance coverage began on October 1, 2013. Those who sign up at healthcare.gov and make their first payment by December 15, 2013, will have coverage beginning on January 1, 2014. The enrollment period for marketplace coverage in 2014 runs through March 31, 2014. Find out more on our health care reform site at ItStartsWithBlueND.com.

  1. I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering
problems with your site. It appears as though some
of the written text in your posts are running off the
screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening
to them as well? This could be a problem with my browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
    Many thanks
